Virginia is for...
Family!!! Our trip to Virginia flew by, but we had a wonderful time visiting with family we hadn't seen for months--and in some cases, years! The trip was extra special because Jon and I both had new neices to meet. We took lots of pictures of Sophia Claire Schumacher and Callie Mae Spiers. Brighton is very blessed to have two cousins so close in age. Will got to spend time with not only his cousins, but also his best friend. On the first day of our trip (following a 2 AM arrival thanks to flight delays), we went to Richmond so Jon could reunite with some Ferguson buddies and the kids and I got to reunite with our best buddies, Gray, Jack, and Baby Luke. Jack and Will had a wonderful time playing at the children's museum and running around like crazy at a restraunt in Carytown. The next night, Grandma and Granddad headed to the airport again to pick up Uncle Glenn and Aunt Cecile. We had not seen them since fall of 06! Grandma prepared meal after meal as we visited with one another among squealing babies and screaming toddlers...the adults got pretty loud too! We had a fantastic time catching up with Grandma, Granddad, Aunts, Uncles, Brothers, Sisters, and Cousins. On Mother's day, we headed to VA Beach to see the Taylor/Spiers clan. I hadn't seen my parents since January, and I hadn't seen my sister since December. On Sunday, Amanda had her friends, the Everharts and Matt's family as well as all of the Taylors and four Schus. It was so special to meet my new neice and be with my sister on her first Mother's Day. We visited the VA Aquarium on Monday and the beach on Tuesday before having to say goodbye to my family. We flew home on Wednesday after saying goodbye to the Schumachers. We had such a good time, but after a whirlwind trip, we all have come down with some kind of plague. I am looking forward to our next trip to VA in July, but for now, it is good to be back home in the bayou!

Seis Meses en el Cinco de Mayo
Brighton is six months old today!!! It is hard to believe that six months has passed since our little girl came into this world. She is so sweet and happy and is a joy to be around. She is sitting up very well now, so she is becoming a very good playmate for her big brother. Will is learning to share his toys with her though he's still a little particular about his cars. We tried giving Brighton solid food as a little 6 month birthday present, but she was not happy with the rice on just breastmilk. She will not have her 6 month well-baby check up until after we return from our trip to Virginia. Please pray for safe travels and healthy children as we emabark on our journey. I am scared to fly, but I'm anxious to spend time with family. I will be posting lots of pictures when we return next week, so check back to see our first glimpses of Baby Sophia Schumacher and Baby Callie Spiers!
