March Madness

We've been very busy the last two weeks! Grandma and Grandad came down for a long weekend, and we packed the weekend with activities. We spent a day in the city walking around the quarter and market, followed by a day in Abita Springs at the park, museum and brewery pub, and finally headed to the St. Patty's day parade in Metaire. We had a wonderful visit with them, and the weather was perfect for all of our activities. They flew out on a Monday, and Nana and Papa drove in on Wednesday. I scheduled quite a few appointments while they were visiting since they were staying during the week. That gave them some alone time with the kids, but I didn't get to visit with them as much as I would have liked. It was nice to have the free babysitting though and Jon and I were able to enjoy a date night in the quarter for the first time ever! I didn't make them work the whole time though. We did take a carriage ride through the quarter on Friday and we also went to Abita Springs one afternoon to play at the park and visit the museum again. We were also able to introduce Mom and Dad to the Louisiana tradition of the Crawfish Boil. Although we didn't boil it ourselves, we did get about four pounds of crawfish to split on Saturday night. Mom was a little scared at first, but I think she enjoyed it. Brighton tried eating them whole, and Will loved playing with them. The crawfish must've put us in the cajun mood because we put on some Zydeco music and had a great time watching Brighton and Will cut a rug. (Don't be fooled, Nana and Papa were dancing too.) Brighton was expecially hilarious, and I will hopefully be posting a video soon. We ended the visit with a trip to the bookstore and a dinner at Buster's. Mom and Dad left this morning, and we were sad to see them go.
But now we must turn our attention to the huge task of moving. Yes, we will be packing up and moving again and this time we will be headed...two blocks away. The house we are currently renting has been put on the market, and rather than live in a "show" house with two little mess-makers, we've decided to rent a home very close by for the remainder of our time in LA. Hopefully this will not change things too much for us, but I am not looking forward to packing, moving, and unpacking while still maintaing control of my children. Right now, I am feeling pretty overwhelmed, but I am going to really try and get through the madness little by little. The next time I post may be from our new residence :)

Trouble in Twos

My little stinkers have been making mischeif of one kind and another very much together these days. They will get into the refridgerator and the pantry when they are hungry. Will climbs on his stool and pulls out food for the two of them. They make HUGE messes with their toys together, and as you can see in the video, create small floods when they take a bath. The interesting part is that Brighton is the more mischevious one. Will actually knows when he is being bad, but he will watch his sister do something and then copy her. When we get after them, he gets to blame his sister. We're on to them though...well, maybe not. Check out these pics and the video. I will be posting pictures of Gma and Gdad's visit in the next day or so.
